Reclamation awards

An important aspect of our environmental regulatory program is the acknowledgement of excellence in mining and reclamation activities. The Division of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement (DMRE) annually participates in different awards programs on state and national levels.

The Kentucky Coal Association (KCA) / Department for Natural Resources (DNR) Outstanding Reclamation Awards are given to coal mining companies that have performed quality reclamation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The award recognizes the best in Kentucky reclamation projects for outstanding work done.
